De La Salle University superstar Jeron Teng admitted it was disgusting seeing the video replay of the prank FEU Tamaraws star guard Terrence Romeo pulled off on Wednesday afternoon.

A video now making the rounds of social networking sites showed Romeo sneaking up from behind Teng, wetting his hand with sweat from his neck and jersey, then rubbing it into Teng's hands as the Archers sophomore prepared to take free throws late in a 71-68 victory over the Tamaraws.

Teng later said he felt it was not just sweat but saliva that the FEU star put in his hand.

“Nakita ko nga yun. Siyempre napangiwi rin ako. Kaso hindi naman ako totally nandiri, sanayan na 'yan. Lagi namang ginagawa ni Terrence yun,” said Teng.

“Hindi ko nga alam kung pawis 'yun, parang dura pa nga eh,” said Teng. “Pero hindi na rin ako nagalit or what, sinumbong ko na lang siya sa referees kasi pa-finals na kami eh!”

Asked to comment on angry reactions from fans who shared his view that Romeo's action was disgusting, Teng could only shake his head.

“No comment na lang ako dyan. May kanya-kanya kasing style ang mga naglalaro. Kung yun siya, wala akong magagawa,” Teng said.

“Pero dapat masanay na tayo kay Terrence. Ginagawa na niya 'yan ever since sa eliminations,” the second generation cager added.

But will he resort to same tactic when his team is down in the game, Teng was quick to say no.

“Hindi. Hindi. Hindi ko gawain yung ganun eh. Ako kasi depensa lang, laro lang. Ayoko ng ganun,” he said while breaking into a laugh.

Teng said it was clear Romeo's intention was to make him lose his focus, but the Archers star he made sure not to lose his cool.

“Syempre. Magpi-freethrow ka tapos babasain niya kamay mo. Pero hindi na rin ako nagalit. Panalo na rin kami eh. Baka kung natalo kami, pwedeng magalit ako sa kanya,” he said.

“Pero si Terrence, mabait naman 'yan off the court. Siguro gusto lang niya akong pikunin o sirain ang laro. Kaso hindi ako papayag ng ganun. Focused ako.”
